Smart535 Charger Circuit Issue and Replacement Guidance
Nice HySecurity has identified a charging circuit defect affecting SlideSmart 535 and SwingSmart 535 gate operators manufactured before July 1, 2026. The issue involves an integrated circuit chip on the SmartBLDC Power Module (part MX5900-01) that can fail early in operation and prevent the operator from charging its batteries or running on AC power
In most cases, this failure occurs within the first few weeks of use. The operator will continue running on battery power for two to four days. Once the batteries are depleted, the gate will go into "Fail Safe" (open) or "Fail Secure" (closed) mode, depending on your settings, and the unit will eventually power down. A less common symptom is overcharged, swollen batteries.
If you are experiencing this issue:
- Verify that AC power is going to the operator.
- Try waking the SmartTouch 725 controller by pressing the Menu or Stop button.
- If the controller will not wake up, check whether the battery voltage is above 22V. If it is below 22V, replace the SmartBLDC Power Module.
- If you turn off the DC power switch and the controller powers down within 30 seconds, the module should also be replaced.
- If either battery reads below 9V or appears swollen, replace both batteries.
The replacement kit for the SmartBLDC Power Module is MX5913. If you need assistance diagnosing the problem or obtaining replacement parts, contact Secure Openers at (800) 878-7829 or email Sales@SecureOpeners.com.
